Structured products

A structured product is a financial instrument consisting of a combination of basic products such as bonds or equities, as well as derivatives.

The structured product that is most frequently traded is the barrier reverse convertible (BRC). The barrier means that the probability of maximum repayment is greater, but the profit opportunity is limited by means of a coupon. There is a lower risk of loss than with a direct investment in the underlying, but the investor bears the default risk of the issuer. Read the blog to find out which components define a BRC.
